These tests are a common way to evaluate candidates fairly and efficiently, helping to ensure that only the most suitable applicants progress to the interview stages. This process saves the organisation time and resources while identifying the candidates with the strongest potential to succeed in the role.
UBS assessments are designed to evaluate a range of key competencies, including numerical and verbal reasoning, problem-solving, and alignment with the company’s values and culture. They are widely used across the financial services sector to identify top talent and make informed hiring decisions.
UBS assessment tests cover a variety of different exercises, and the specific tests you will encounter depend on the role and division you have applied to. The assessments can differ in format, subject matter, time limits, and level of difficulty.

The UBS assessment test is designed to evaluate a candidate’s suitability for various roles within the organisation. Each test will vary in subject and difficulty depending on the role applied for and may include numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning, and situational judgment exercises that also assess alignment with UBS’s values.
The UBS Assessment Test is a series of online exercises designed to evaluate a candidate’s suitability for specific roles within the organisation.
The tests vary depending on the role and division, and may include:
Numerical reasoning – assessing your ability to interpret and work with data.
Verbal reasoning – evaluating comprehension and logical interpretation of written information.
Logical or inductive reasoning – testing problem-solving and pattern recognition skills.
Situational judgment tests (SJTs) – assessing decision-making and alignment with UBS’s values and culture, such as collaboration, client centricity, accountability, and risk management.
These assessments allow UBS to identify candidates with the right skills, behaviours, and potential for success in their roles while ensuring a fair and consistent recruitment process.
The UBS Assessment Test is designed to help the company identify candidates who are most likely to succeed in a given role. Its purpose is to assess not only technical and cognitive skills, such as numerical, verbal, and logical reasoning, but also behavioural competencies and alignment with UBS’s values, including collaboration, accountability, client centricity, and innovation.
By using these assessments, UBS can ensure a fair and consistent selection process, efficiently sift through applicants, and focus on those who demonstrate the right combination of skills, judgement, and behaviours for the role. This ultimately helps the organisation hire high-performing employees who fit both the role and the company culture.
In our experience, and having consulted several previous applicants, the most effective way to prepare is to undertake numerous sample test questions under timed conditions. By practicing under timed conditions, it enables you to improve your scores dramatically and also simulates the actual test. When preparing for your UBS Assessment test, follow these 3 simple steps:
STEP 1: Obtain examples of the types of questions you will face during your assessment. Read them and gain an understanding of the format. If you understand the style of questions, the real test will be less daunting.
STEP 2: Practice sample UBS n assessment test questions regularly before the real test. Little and often is far better than cramming the night before your test.
STEP 3: The most important step when preparing for your assessment test is to make sure you practice the UBS assessment test questions under strict timed conditions. During the real test, you will undoubtedly be nervous. By practicing numerous multiple-choice example questions under tined conditions it helps to increase your speed of working and competency levels.
Below, are several examples of test questions that are designed to help you prepare for your actual UBS Assessment test. We have included sample question from each category of the online tests.

A. True
B. False
C. Impossible to say
ANSWER = TRUE

EXPLANATION: In this test, you will need to read the question and then navigate to the correct tab containing the information. In this case, the question states that the profits made in the last quarter were £42,100. Your task is to find the correct tab containing the data that would validate the claim as true, false or impossible to say. This question states: “In the last quarter of 2022, the total profits were £42,100.” To break this down into steps, we need to do the following:
STEP 1: Find the correct tab which contains the data. In this case, the total profits tab contains the correct data set.
STEP 2: Analyse the data contained in the tab to locate the correct data to validate.
STEP 3: Make the required calculation. In this case, the last quarter of 2022 is October, November and December. Add the three figures; 12.2 + 13.4 + 16.5 = 42.1. 42.1 x 1,000 = £42,100. So we can validate this statement as true.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TEST
At first, the test will seem daunting as you are unfamiliar with the data in the tabs. However, as you progress through the questions, you will become familiar with the type of data included in each tab. This will help you to quickly locate the tab which contains the required information. In your actual UBS Assessment, you must be on the correct tab when you submit your answer. If you submit an answer on a tab that does not include the required data, your answer will be marked as incorrect, regardless of whether your answer choice is correct.
TIMING OF THE TEST
This test requires both speed and accuracy, as you must answer 37 questions in 12 minutes, which is only twenty seconds per question. Because of the difficulty alone, we recommend you prepare and practice for this test as much as possible prior to your actual assessment.

SAMPLE ANSWER = 5,2,7
To work this out, we must follow the rules of BIDMAS, so we need to find two figures between 1 and 9 which, when multiplied, the answer is less than 19. In this case, 2 x 7 = 14. We then add the remainder of 5 to solve the problem. Therefore the full answer is 5 + 2 x 7 = 19. Some other possible combinations are 1,6,3 & and 3,8,2. Please note it is important to remember that each number can only be used once to solve the problem. For example, you could not use 3 + 4 x 4 = 19 as 4 has been used twice to solve the problem.

A. True
B. False
C.Impossible to say
Answer: C False

Your task is to find the correct tab containing the data to validate the claim as true, false or impossible to say. This question states: “If I wanted recovery therapies included in my pet insurance, I would choose gold or platinum.” To break this down into steps, we need to do the following:

EXPLANATION = Within each square, the shapes are moving down each line as the sequence progresses. Once they reach the bottom, they go back to the top. However, you will notice that the two triangular shapes alternate colours, switching from black to grey and vice versa as the sequence progresses.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TEST
This test aims to measure your ability to spot patterns and sequences when presented with shapes, images and sequences.

Answer: B.
EXPLANATION
Rule 1 = working from the top half of the box, using a zig-zag method across the sequence, the dots follow the pattern of: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 and so on.
Rule 2 = working from the bottom half of the box, using a zig-zag method across the sequence, the dots follow the pattern of: 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 2, 2 and so on.
Figure A can be ruled out because the top box needs 2 dots, and the bottom of the box needs 3 dots. Figure C can be ruled out because the bottom half of the box should have 3 dots, not 4. Figure D can be ruled out because the top half of the box needs 2 dots and the bottom half needs 3 dots. Figure E can be ruled out because the top half of the box needs 2 dots, not 4 dots.
