The College of Policing introduced the online assessment process in May 2020, for which is used by all constabularies in the UK and Wales for police constable applicants.
The police online assessment process includes four exercises which you MUST pass in order to become a police officer. These are as follows:
These exercises are designed to assess candidates against the competencies and values of policing. You will need to demonstrate specific competencies and values throughout each exercises to progress your application.
The briefing exercise is the final part of the police online assessment process. You are permitted 46 minutes (in total) to complete this test. Of this, 10 minutes is allocated to reading the exercise and supplementary questions, and the remaining 36 minutes is allocated to answering all of the questions related to the scenario.
This exercise is split into three parts, with each part containing additional information and supplementary questions you must answer. Remember, you will have to answer each of the questions as if you are a serving police constable.
